The HIIT workouts have been proven to have amazing benefits for people struggling with too much weight that they can’t lose or those who just want a more toned and sculpted body. They’re a lot of fun, too.
These workouts are high intensity interval training, which means they alternate between periods of high-intensity exercise and low-intensity exercise repeated intermittently. There are a wide variety of exercises that can be done, from running, jumping rope and body weight movements to circuit training.
How To Work Out?
Warm up for about 5 minutes by walking/jogging, or by doing some light stationary cycling. Your workout begins with HIIT moves such as squats, lunges and crunches.
Workout Interval: 20 seconds of HIIT moves such as squats, lunges and crunches.
Rest Interval: 10 seconds of walking or easy jogging in place. Continue this cycle for 12 minutes. Cool down by walking/jogging 5 minutes.
You should do these workouts a minimum of 3 times a week with at least a day’s rest between sessions to avoid over-training your body.
Exercise 1: (10 minutes – 15 minutes) Warm up with 5 to 10 minutes of walking or stationary cycling. Run for 3 to 5 minutes. Walk for 2 to 4 minutes. Do this for 8 intervals total.
Exercise 2: (15 Minutes – 25 Minutes) Warm up with 5 to 10 minutes of walking or stationary cycling Run for 3 to 5 minutes. Walk for 2 to 4 minutes. Do this for 8 intervals total .
Exercise 3: (10 Minutes – 15 minutes) Warm up with 5 to 10 minutes of walking or stationary cycling. Run for 3 to 5 minutes. Walk for 2 to 4 minutes. Do this for 8 intervals total .
Total Exercise Time: 45 – 75 minutes per week depending on your level of fitness and fitness goals.
Once you’ve mastered these exercises, choose a few more that you want to learn and perform at your next workout session. While you’re waiting for that session, learn a few more exercises and add them to your workout. Workout at least 3 times a week to reach your goals, but try to workout every day if you’re feeling motivated!
